Meet the Speakers Wooseok Ki Wooseok Ki is a NYC music & entertainment lawyer with a passion for Asian/AAPI representation in the media. He is the best-selling author of K-POP: The Odyssey – Your Gateway to the Global K-POP Phenomenon, which debuted as a #1 New Release on Amazon. His written work has been featured in VICE, NBC LX, Trapital, and The Korea Times, and he has spoken at Sony Music, UPenn, and Boston University. Alice Kim Alice Nahyeon Kim is a diasporic media reporter with Arirang Korea TV and OMNI TV. Her work explores how Canada’s multiculturalism is reflected in journalism and how digital platforms and emerging technologies such as AI are reshaping storytelling for diasporic and community media. She is the founder of the Mediated Diasporas Working Group at the Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies at the University of Toronto. JinWoo Park Jinwoo Park is a Korean Canadian writer based in Montreal. He completed a master’s in creative writing at the University of Oxford. In 2021, he won the Jim Wong-Chu Emerging Writers Award. He is also a literary translator and received the LTI Korea Translation Award for Aspiring Translators in 2023. Julia is currently a Strategic Communications Advisor for Statistics Canada and the incoming New Media & Public Humanities Postdoctoral Fellow at the Jackman Humanities Institute.
